We are building our MVP in just 8 weeks, and we want to share how you can do it too.

The past few weeks have been an exhilarating ride as we’ve been building khaya.money, truly embracing the “eat your own dog food” philosophy when it comes to our process of getting from idea to product in just 8 weeks. Now in week 5 of our actual building phase, we’ve accumulated a wealth of insights to enhance our 8-week process.

So, what’s this “Idea to Product in 8 Weeks” all about? Most ideas require time to implement and reach the market, but I believe there’s a sweet spot for many projects, depending on their complexity. Typically, 8-12 weeks is the ideal timeframe to ship your initial MVP (Minimum Viable Product). This approach ensures you stay in the game and remain relevant to your users and stakeholders. Whether you’re a small startup team launching a new product or feature, or a big corporate team looking to quickly validate a new product idea or test out a feature, this concept applies universally.

The key lies in leveraging modern prototyping tools that can help us deliver real software into customers’ hands within this compressed timeframe, from ideation to App Store launch. I’m talking about harnessing the power of AI, “no-code” tools, and platforms like Supabase and Firebase. These technologies can help you create an initial version of your product and then scale it further, whether you’re in an enterprise setting or a startup environment.

The latest coding and design tools now allow us, more than ever before, to bring our ideas to life and iterate at lightning speed on a daily basis, compressing days of work into mere minutes. Tools like Cursor AI for code editing, GitHub Copilot, and many others can be utilized as a virtual army, not only to write code but to automate processes at speed. This allows the team to focus on the crucial aspects: shipping code, gathering customer feedback, and rapid iteration.

Our journey with khaya.money has been a testament to the power of this approach. We’ve experienced firsthand how these tools and methodologies can dramatically accelerate the development process. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to refine our approach, making our 8-week timeline not just a goal, but a reality.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be releasing an ebook and a paid program targeted at startups and corporate teams looking to break the mold and move fast in designing, building, and shipping products while getting early customer feedback in as little as 8-12 weeks. All the processes will be based on real-life application and tweaking as we build khaya.money and launch it to our users in the near future. We’re incredibly excited to share both the process and the product that will emerge from this journey.

If you’re already using modern, fast prototyping tools that help you ship code faster, I’d love to learn from you as well. Your insights could help us battle-test some of your tools and processes, fostering a community of knowledge-sharing and innovation.

As we continue to push the boundaries of rapid product development, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey. Whether you’re a seasoned developer, a startup founder, or part of a corporate innovation team, there’s something in this process for everyone.
